Additional Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Sawhney told PTI here that 35 per cent of votes were cast till 1300 hours in the state.

Reports of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) failing to regster the votes poured in from Mahaboobnagar, Kurnool, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Nizamabad, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Khammam, Nalgonda and West Godavari, besides some polling booths in the twin cities.

There were some reports of technical snag in EVMs which were being sorted out, Sawhney said.

However, the problems were attended to by the concerned zonal officers trained in handling EVMs along with Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) technicians, he said.
