Four army jawans and a LeT terrorist killed in a fierce encounter in Pulwama district in J&K.

Four army jawans and a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist were killed in a fierce encounter in Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, defence sources said.

Army had cordoned off village Neldura in Shopian area, 65 kms from Srinagar, on Friday night and started search operations in the wee hours, the sources said.

The security forces came under fire from terrorists around 5.00 am in which two jawans were killed on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries, the sources said.

In the ensuing gunbattle, one LeT terrorist was shot dead. The operation was on till last reports came in.

The sources said the injured jawans were evacuated to army base hospital in Srinagar where they succumbed to their injuries.
