5 held for selling Docs' sample medicines in UP

Doctor's medicine samples worth Rs 30 lakh were seized by police from shops in Saptsagar Mandi in Varanasi on Monday and five persons detained in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off that the samples were openly sold in the retail market and also supplied to the government hospitals, police teams raided the retail outlets and godowns of five medicine dealers and recovered a large quantity of samples, police said.
Five employees of these shops and godowns were detained for interrogation.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the owners of the shops and godowns.
