An estimated 50 per cent of 107 million voters on Wednesday exercised their franchise in the penultimate phase of LS elections.
An estimated 50 per cent of 107 million voters on Wednesday exercised their franchise in the penultimate phase of Lok Sabha elections covering 83 constituencies in seven states, the Election Commission announced.

Nagaland recorded the highest turnout with 75 to 80 per cent while the lowest was in Anantnag constituency in Jammu and Kashmir with 16 per cent, the Commission said.

The voters' turnout in Rajasthan was 52 to 55 per cent followed by Madhya Pradesh (50 to 55 per cent), Uttar Pradesh (50 per cent), Bihar (45 to 50 per cent) and Arunachal Pradesh (37 per cent).
Wednesday's polling, the Commission said, was by and large peaceful barring stray incidents of violence.
