The adjoining Phulpur constituency has the maximum of 26 candidates with the BJP's Beni Madha Bind, Atiq Ahmed of the SP and BSP's Kesri Devi Patel battling it out in the triangular contest even as the Apna Dal national president Sonelal Patel is also in the fray.
In the Chail (Reserved) seat, it appears to be a quadrangular contest among BSP's Vachaspati, SP's Shalendra Kumar, Amrit Lal Bharatiya and Shash Prakesh of the BJP.
