"The strength of anganwari centres would be increased by 6000 centres in near future to provide succour to the areas which have remained uncovered so far," Social Welfare minister Abdul Gani Vakil said on Sunday.

Vakil favoured for periodical inspection of anganwari centres to ensure that nutrition and other benefits should reach the genuine persons. "The central government is extending all financial assistance to the state social welfare sector," he said.
