6 more farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha

Six farmers, including a woman, commit suicide in Vidarbha taking the suicide toll in this region to 1006.

Six more farmers, including a woman, committed suicide in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, an NGO working for the farmers' causes claimed on Monday.

The farmers who ended their lives on Saturday were Subhdara Mahadeo Hazare, Karanja Ghadge (Wardha), Prashant Lonkar, Wathona (Warda), Baburao Shahane, Jwara Bodi (Chandrapur), Prashant Devade, Kopa (Chandrapur), Jitendra Raut, Karli (Washim) and Hagidsh Dhavale, Talegaon (Wardha), according to Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti.

With this, the number of farmers, who have committed suicide in the region since June 2005, has gone up to 1006, they said in a release in Nagpur .
