75,000 km on skates to accomplish a mission

Prakash Fund (22) from Maharastra has been rolling 75,000 km across the country on a pair of skates to make the people aware about the disease.

He rolled into Guna on Friday as part of his Mumbai to Mumbai run. Through his run he also wishes to instill a feeling of patriotism and communal harmony in fellow citizens.

Prakash’s mission was flagged off by Maharastra Director General of Police Pasricha in November last year. He has so far covered Goa, Karnataka, Chhatisgarh, Orissa, Assam, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Bihar, Jharkhand states.

He has another 47,000 km to cover to complete his mission and in the process has already broken the record of 23,400 km distance registered in Limca Book of records.

But, for him it is not the record books that he is keen, he says. Prakash lost his parents in early childhood and has studied upto class 10. He was born on June 14 and wishes to be known as `Roller June 14’. Like any one else, he also hopes the patronage of his state government in his mission.
