Over 800 Indians, evacuated from trouble-torn Lebanon, were on Monday airlifted back home from Cyprus raising to 1,442 the number of people pulled out from there in two ferries.

Two Air India planes brought 400 people each to Chennai and Delhi, marking completion of the second evacuation in four days, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs said in New Delhi.
These people were airlifted from Larnaca in Cyprus, where they were brought from Beirut by two Indian Naval warships -- INS Mumbai and INS Brahmaputra -- early Monday morning.
Earlier on Friday last, 602 Indians were brought home by two Air India planes. There are about 12,000 Indian nationals living in Lebanon and requests are pouring in for their evacuation amid intensification of fighting.
The evacuation operation is being monitored by Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) Vayalar Ravi, his ministry said.
Indian Navy has four warships in the Mediterranean Sea tasked to carry out the evacuation of Indian nationals and INS Mumbai missile-destroyer is the largest of the four.
