Nine people were killed and 25 injured, nine of them seriously, when a Tempo traveller collided with a private bus at Kanippayyur.

Nine people were killed and 25 injured, nine of them seriously, when a Tempo traveller collided with a private bus at Kanippayyur, near Kunnamkulam, in Thrissur on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased were identified as S Jamal (30), driver of the van, Antony (60) and his wife Mary (52), Cheru, Johnson, Kochu Mathew, Thomas and Ignatius. Another woman who died in the accident was not yet identified.
The mishap occurred when the van carrying a marriage party collided with a private bus proceeding to Thrissur, the police said.
The injured were admitted to various hospitals in the district.
