999 of 1,096 swine flu patients discharged: Maha Govt

Altogether 999 of the 1,096 persons who tested positive for swine flu in Maharashtra have been discharged from hospitals, state Government said in Mumbai on Thursday.

Altogether 999 of the 1,096 persons who tested positive for swine flu in Maharashtra have been discharged from hospitals, state Government said in Mumbai on Thursday.

"Altogether 999 of the 1,096 positive swine flu cases were discharged from hospitals," an official release said.

Twenty two persons have died of the flu in the state till Thursday morning, the release said.

"As of now, 78 flu patients are being treated at various hospitals in the state. These include 18 on ventilators," the Government said adding Centre has provided 14.53 lakh Tamiflu tablets.

Meanwhile, District Collectors have been authorised to shut educational institutions, cinemas and commercial complexes, in view of the flu, after assessing situation.
