The State Government has issued instructions to all district collectors to chalk out and implement an action plan (micro-planning) for this purpose in their respective districts.

They have been asked to send a copy of the plan to the Government. During the campaign, all children of up to five years age will be weighed to measure their status of nutrition. Cent percent children weighed during the previous eight campaigns will be weighed during the 9th campaign.

Children of nine month to three years of age will be administered a dose of vitamin A. Besides, severely malnourished children will be medically examined and treated.

Collectors have been asked to make efforts to completely free at least some villages from malnutrition. Benefit of Bal Shakti Yojana will also be provided to severely malnourished children. Collectors have been directed to ensure wide publicity of the campaign.

After this, a State-level review of the campaign will be undertaken where all district programme officers will be present with statistics. This would help chalk out an action plan for the care of malnourished children.
