AAP fields Parveen Amanullah from Patna Sahib

Bihar’s former social justice minister Parveen Amanullah will be the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) candidate from Patna Sahib constituency in the heart of the state’s capital.

Bihar’s former social justice minister Parveen Amanullah will be the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) candidate from Patna Sahib constituency in the heart of the state’s capital.

Amanullah, who quit the Janata Dal-United to join the AAP in February, will take on Shatrughan Sinha, the sitting MP and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s star candidate.

Amanullah held a long meeting with party leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in Delhi on Wednesday.

“Yes, I have decided to contest. Earlier, I was in two minds as time is too short for preparation, but there is an urgent need to fight against corruption and communal forces,” she told HT after the meeting.
