Abhijeet, tenant booked for mugging

The Bollywood playback singer and his tenant reportedly had a fistcuff over a property matter.

Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharyaand his tenant have been booked for assault by Oshiwara police in western Mumbai. Both,allegedly, had a fistcuff over a property matter, police said today.

The singer, who owns a premise in Royal Classic building in suburban Andheri, allegedly went there on Monday night after a cheque of Rs 2.91 lakh issued by his tenant Arvind Sarvadekar, as dues allegedly bounced, and asked him to vacate the house, they said.

Police said, what transpired between the two there was not known, but later, both lodged complaints of assault against each other at Oshiwara police station.

The matter was under investigation and no action has been taken so far, police said.
