He stressed the need for punishing the officials involved in violating the GO. Agrawal said students were paying huge amounts of fee in self-financed courses as compared to other students, adding that teachers were also being “harassed” by managers of these colleges. He demanded that the government order issued from time to time to maintain the standard of education, and payment of teachers along with service conditions should be implemented in self-financed colleges.
Agrawal further said 23 teachers were working in self-financed courses, but were not paid salaries according to the directives of the government.
He added that 2,400 students had taken admission in evening classes. They were paying Rs 3,000 as fee, but teachers were not taking classes.
Agrawal further said the university authorities received Rs 60 lakh according to the strength of the students. According to the directive, Rs 42 lakh should be utilised for payment of salaries to teachers. However, only Rs 8.70 lakh was spent on salaries while Rs 28 lakh was used for administrative work.
