Actors & authors make up Cannes film jury
A nine-strong jury headed by Sarajevo-born director Emir Kusturica will have the tough task of choosing the winner of the Cannes film fest.
A nine-strong jury headed by Sarajevo-born director Emir Kusturica and including Nobel laureate Toni Morrison and top director John Woo will have the tough task of choosing the winner of the Cannes film festival.

This year's jury during the event, which runs through May 22, will be made up of:
Fatih Akin, director, Germany
Javier Bardem, actor, Spain
Nandita Das, actress, India
Benoit Jacquot, director, France
Salma Hayek, actress, Mexico
Toni Morrison, author, US
John Woo, director, Hong Kong
Agnes Varda, director, France
Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami will head the Camera d'Or jury, which judges the best first film from all those shown in the official Palme d'Or section, Director's Fortnight and International Critics Week.
He will be assisted by:
Yves Allion, critic, France
Patrick Chamoiseau, writer, France
Malik Chibane, director, France
Scott Foundas, critic, US
Laura Meyer, film fan, France
Luc Pourrinet, technician, France
Roberto Turigliatto, Turin film festival, Italy

US director and script writer Alexander Payne will head the jury for the section "Un Certain Regard".
