ADA VC seeks security for AE

He has also urged the two officers to order investigation by Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) into threats issued by some person to Arora the other day. The ADA engineer was threatened by a person on Monday evening that he would be shot dead within 24 hours if he failed to stop his crusade against illegal constructions.

When this threat was being given on the mobile of the engineer he was sitting right in front of a sub-inspector at the Colonelganj police station. He had gone there to get an FIR lodged against Lav Kush Kesarwani under Section 447 IPC for violating Section 14 and 15 of Urban Development Act and carrying out illegal construction near Man Mohan Park in Katra.

Taken aback by this threatening call Arora handed over the mobile to the sub-inspector who too was hurled with invective. Later the caller hung up after realising as to who he was talking to.

On the other hand it has now become quite clear that three junior engineers and a zonal officer of the ADA are behind this threat call. The ADA officers and the VC also know them well. Such tainted ADA officials who move around with private gunners in vehicles and have property disproportionate to their known sources of income are also trying to divert the attention of the authorities concerned that Arora had been threatened by a builder.

It may be mentioned that three days before this threat on mobile Arora had been confronted by two JEs outside the ADA office in the Indira Bhawan complex. Some outsiders were also there with the two JEs.

Arora was asked point blank to stop his crusade against illegal constructions in the city failing which he would meet the fate of Manoj Srivastava, a JE, who was shot dead a few years ago on Indira Bhawan campus.

Unruffled, Arora brought the incident to the knowledge of the VC. But action against the two JEs is still awaited. It may be mentioned that one of the two JEs who is in the enforcement wing has allegedly constructed two massive lodges having more than hundred rooms on estate land in Chandpur Salori area.

Meanwhile latest developments indicate that top officers in the ADA are manipulating transfers in order to divert the attention of the High Court in a PIL.Insiders say, transfer of Mayank Yadav, zonal officer incharge Civil Lines area, has been stopped for the second time in a month. He had been transferred on Tuesday to Kanpur Development Authority. But a fax message from Lucknow on Wednesday stopped his transfer on the ground that his transfer was not correct in the light of the ongoing PIL in the High Court. But would these officials tell about the action taken against this zonal officer who has become infamous for allegedly allowing most of the illegal constructions in this posh area of the city?

It may be mentioned that the High Court had recently issued directions for the removal of all those officers who have completed three years' stay in the ADA.

On his part the said zonal officer is there for the past nearly eight years.

Moreover he is reported to be on deputation from the Nagar Nigam services.

Is his stay in ADA so crucial that the PIL would not move an inch minus him? Or, the stay on his transfer is another manipulative trick played by the powers-that-be, is for the VC to
answer.
