Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, who was at the centre of attack from the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during the Lok Sabha election campaign, on Monday met home minister Rajnath Singh.
The billionaire businessman, whose businesses spanning coal trading, coal mining, oil and gas exploration and ports, also met Union home secretary Anil Goswami during his visit to the North Block.
Sources described the meetings as a courtesy call by the Ahmedabad-based 51-year old businessman, who is considered to be close to Prime Minister Nardendra Modi. The Congress and the AAP had attacked Adani for allegedly receiving favours from the Gujarat government, a charge vehemently denied by both the BJP and Adani.
