Levelling these charges against the district administration, BJP leaders including Lakhan Yadav, Rajendra Agrawal, Arvind Jain and Kishanlal Soni charged that, amid the lackadaisical attitude of district administration, police personnel stopped a Minister.

A senior BJP leader Surendra Patwa, Municipality vice president Omprakash Meena and two Ministers Thakur Rampal Singh and Laxmikant Sharma also faced tough time, they added. Instances were noticed where local leaders were seen helping police identify Ministers or important persons.

The mismanagement during Chief Minister’s visit caused great resentment among Ministers and other dignitaries, the leaders said. Hoshangabad Range DIG Swarn Singh admitted the way to the programme site was narrow which added to the mismanagement.

He, however, had directed Collector and Superintendent of Police to take all precautionary measures prior to the programme.
