Advani concerned over J&K security situation

The minority Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir are being targeted by terrorists to force their exodus from Doda and Udhampur districts, representatives of the community told senior BJP leader LK Advani in Jammu on Sunday.

"I am also concerned by the worsening security situation in Kashmir," Advani told those who were injured in a terror attack on a BJP rally at Doda on Saturday.

After meeting the injured at the Government Medical College Hospital here, Advani asked the authorities to provide better medical facilities to them. The grenade attack in Doda left two persons dead and 41 injured.

Advani told reporters he had come to share the pain and grief of the the kin of the dead and to visit the injured.

The patients told Advani that they were not being treated properly by authorities and had not been given proper medicare facilities.

Advani, who arrived here at 11 am from New Delhi, visited the hospital with former Union minister Chaman Lal Gupta.

Later, he left for Batote in Doda, where he will visit the house of BJP activist Munshi Ram who died in Saturday's attack. He will also visit more of the injured at a hospital in Doda.
