Advani, Rajnath arriving today

LEADER OF opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani and BJP president Rajnath Singh are scheduled to arrive in the city on Thursday, according to party sources. This is Advani?s first visit to the temple township after the twin blasts on March 7. Advani, who was first scheduled to visit the city on March 16, deferred it for March 23 due to Holi.

LEADER OF opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani and BJP president Rajnath Singh are scheduled to arrive in the city on Thursday, according to party sources.  

This is Advani’s first visit to the temple township after the twin blasts  on March 7. Advani, who was first scheduled to visit the city on March 16, deferred it for March 23 due to Holi.

The former deputy prime minister and his entourage was scheduled to arrive in the city in a chartered plane, party sources informed, adding that Advani would visit the blast sites at Sankat Mochan Temple and Cantonment railway station.
He will also visit some injured who are still in different hospitals.

Besides, he will also visit some families of the blast victims. As city MLA Shyam Deo Rai Chaudhary’s wife passed away a few days ago, Advani is scheduled to visit his house also in the afternoon.  

“ Apart from a media conference, Advani is scheduled to meet some party leaders in the city”, the party insiders said.   

Though BJP president Rajnath Singh will be accompanying him from New Delhi, UP BJP chief Kesri Nath Tripathi and other senior party leaders are likely to arrive in the city late tonight.           

It may be mentioned that the VIPs who visited the blast site inside the temple premises included UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh, former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP chief Rajnath Singh, founder of Art of Living and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker, rebel SP MP Raj Babbar, former MP CM Uma Bharti,  former UP BJP chief Vinay Katiyar, lyricist Javed Akhtar, social activist Swami Agnivesh and former Prime Minister VP Singh.
