According to Madhya Pradesh Laghu Vetan Karmchari Sangh district president Ravi Shankar Shukla and coordinator Leeladhar Bamniya, the kin of a woman brought in for a delivery case yesterday threatened Dr Pushplata Azad and misbehaved with her.

According to sources a Bharatiya Janata Party leader related to the Bajrang Dal admitted the women in the hospital demanding free treatment and got annoyed when his demands were not complied with resulting in an unruly scene.

The doctors, nurses and employees participated in the demonstration held in front of the hospital superintendent in the presence of Chandan Nagar TI RS Pathak.

Dr Pushplata Azad later told the TI that she did not know the name of the person behind yesterday’s commotion but could identify him in an identification parade.

Shukla said that the hospital employees would meet the Superintendent of Police (SP) Adarsh Katiyar tomorrow morning. The staff would reiterate their long-standing demand of opening a police check-post at the hospital premises on the likes of Maharaja Yeshwant Rao Hospital (MYH). The staff stated that repetition of such incidents could be avoided only with a police presence on the campus.
