Tournament organising committee general secretary Neeraj Yagnik told reporters here today that 32 teams from various parts of Madhya Pradesh had already confirmed their participation in the tournament.
Apart from Indore, teams from Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Raipur and other places will be taking part in the tournament. He said 16 teams from Indore would take part. Every day three to four matches would be played on 10-over basis and the semifinals and final would be played on a 12-over basis.
Organiser Ramesh Mendola said that the organizing committee would be providing kits to the players who enter last four stage and the entry fees would be Rs 3,100. MPCA state qualified umpires would officiate in all the matches while the semifinals and the finals would be officiated by All India Panel umpires.
The winners would be awarded a cash prize of Rs 51,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up would be awarded Rs 31,000.
Yagnik said the committee would felicitate the entire people who were behind the success of the one dayer played between India and England in Indore recently. Those to be felicitated include MPCA secretary Sanjay Jagdale, building committee members and curator Samunder Singh Chouhan.
Mendola said that they would honour umpires, groundsmen commentators and reporters for their services to be rendered for the successful conduct of the tournament. All matches would start at 5 pm and end by 1 am.
Floodlit towers would be erected without damaging the ground and every day after the match the ground would be cleaned to maintain neatness.
The MPCA is not charging any fees from the organisors and after seeing the success of the tournament they would plan to make this an annual event.
