Abdul Rahim Quereshi, the Board's Assistant General Secretary, to participate in its executive committee meeting, told reporters that "the verdict has restored our faith in the judiciary. However, justice in this case though not denied, has been delayed."

Zaheera, who had turned hostile in the case, was found to be a "self-condemned liar" by a high-powered committee appointed by the court and was subsequently sentenced to one year's simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 for contempt of court.
