"The fully-equipped implant office, located in Room 232 of the Department of Expenditure in the Finance Ministry in the North Block, has become operational from October 8 and the ticketing facilities would be available on all weekdays," an airlines spokesperson said.

Officials from Ministry of Home, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Department of Personnel and Training, Departments of Revenue and Expenditure and Department of Economic Affairs, among others, could avail of the facilities.

The move to set-up the counter by the national carrier seems to have come up in the wake of government's directive to the officials to fly Air India for their domestic and international tours.

The cash-strapped national carrier is also planning to set-up two more offices in Delhi by the end of December.

The airline is also exploring the possibility of opening similar offices at government offices in other metro cities, the spokesperson said.

Air India at present has implant offices operating from Ministry of External Affairs at Akbar Hotel and Parliament House in the capital.
