Two community radio stations are in Nagaland and one in Mizoram, the release said.

While the AIR has no further proposal to set up such stations in Shillong, the Centre has liberalised the policy for grant of permission for setting up community radio stations to 'non-profit' bodies like voluntary organisations, state agricultural universities, Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, registered societies and autonomous bodies and public trust registered under the Societies Act, the release said.
