Airtel crosses 2-million customer mark
MOBILE SERVICE provider Airtel has become the first mobile operator across India to cross the 2-million subscriber base. According to a media release, Airtel crossed the 2-million customer mark in Karnataka just 15 months after it crossed the one million mark.

The service provider covers over 465 towns in the State and is expected to expand its network to over 700 towns by March 2006.
Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd Mobility president Manoj Kohli said, “This landmark is a testimony to the quality of services that we offer to all our customers across India.”
Describing Airtel as a company driven by vision, Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd executive-director, southern hub (mobility) Atul Bindal, said the company would continue to invest in building state-of-the-art network and infrastructure facilities.
