Akshay Kumar turns producer

Unable to get a producer for his film, Akshay Kumar himself donned the producer's garb for his upcoming movie.

Akshay Kumar starrer Khatta Meetha has been dropped by Eros International as they found it very high priced.

A source in the industry says, "Akshay has kick-started his film Khatta Meetha with South actress Trishna opposite him. Eros was helping Akki financially in the project and was going to co-produce the venture under the actor's banner Hari Om Productions."

"The budget agreed by them was close to 45 crores. The heads of Eros, however, felt that this film could easily be made under 30 crores. They had a meeting with Akshay last weekend and voiced their misgivings about the budget. But Khiladi Kumar felt that the budget was appropriate and he didn't want to negotiate the figure."

The actor knocked the door of other corporates as well, but none of them agreed to fund the movie.

The actor has now decided that he will produce the film and finance it himself and make it on his own terms. The film would go on the floors by the end of this month.

The actor seems to be losing his midas touch, let's hope that this new venture works for him.
