Security forces shot dead a top terrorist of Al-Badr outfit during a gunbattle in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on early Tuesday, a top army official said in Jammu.

Acting on a tip off, 38 Rashtriya Rifle personnel alongwith the police launched a search operation in Tarnai forest belt in Manjakote area of the district and shot dead the terrorist, identified as Bilal, he said.
One AK-56 rifle, two magazines and 58 rounds were recovered from him, he said.
He was a close associate of Al-Badr divisional commander Ishtiyaq Hussain, who was killed in neighbouring Sanjote area of the district on December 15 last year, he said, adding Bilal had escaped then.
