Alert in Dehradun following serial blast threat

An alert was sounded in and around vital installations following the receipt of a letter threatening serial blasts across the city on November 28, police on Thursday said.

The threatening letter was received at the headquarters of a central government enterprise here, which was later handed over to senior police officials, a police spokesman said.

There is no mention in the letter, as to who or which organisation has written the letter, but police has taken the matter seriously and started investigations in this regard.

Meanwhile, police and other security agencies have been asked to put on alert and security around the vital installations like Indian Military Academy has been stepped up, he said.
