Gandhi, who won the seat by a massive margin of over three lakh votes, told reporters here that he would now strive to become an "adult" in politics.

His reference was to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's remark that he was a "child" in the rough and tumble of politics.

"That time (when Vajpayee said I am a child) I had said that I respect Vajpayee. Now as a child I will try to become an adult," he said.
