Allahabad HC adjourns hearing on Ganga PIL

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed authorities to release 450 cusecs of water in the Ganges.

The Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed authorities to release 450 cusecs of water in the Ganges as per its earlier order.

The court adjourned till February 8, hearing on a public interest petition on pollution in the river.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice AN Ray and Justice Ashok Bhusan adjourned the hearing.

The petition alleged that there was a shortage of water in the Ganges during the 'Magh Mela' and that the water was polluted.
