Allahabad Junction station toilet facility in a shambles
If officials are to be believed, crores of rupees have been spent on beautification and improvement of Allahabad Junction station but it still lacks proper and sufficient toilet facility to cope with heavy rush of passengers daily. And the hardest hit is the general public who has to face great difficulties due to lack of this basic facility at the Junction station.

A visit to the Junction station revealed that platform numbers 2, 3, 9 and 10 completely lack the toilet facilities. Besides, platform numbers 1, 4, 7 and 8 have the facility of only one toilet each and that too in a condition which is not worth using. Besides, there is also no arrangement for ladies' toilet.
Moreover, the facility made available by Sulabh International on the station campus is for a price. The Sulabh International has built one toilet complex on city side and one on the Civil Lines side of the station. But their upkeep is not upto the mark.
"Limited facility of toilets on the platforms and on the campus of the station is unable to cater to the needs of thousands of passengers visiting station daily.
Moreover, toilets which are already there are not in a proper condition", said Manish Singh, a train passenger.
Not only this, the railway administration has not provided proper waiting room facility for the second class passengers, he remarked.
Even for the upper class passengers the waiting room on platform number one is full of inconvenience because the waiting hall on the ground floor is meant for ladies' while that on the first floor is for gents'. Due to this arrangement the luggage has to taken care of by either male who is on the first floor or by the female who is on the ground floor.
Besides, majority of the passengers just have to wait in the corridor which lies on the entrance of the city side.
On being contacted Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) NCR, Bageesh Pandey he said, "Proper facilities have been provided to the passengers but they do not make proper use of the toilets which have been provided to them".
