Media organisations in New Delhi have received a compact disk (CD) that is said to contain conversations between Amar Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The CD, titled 'Amar Singh ki Amar Kahani', is also believed to contain his conversations with Anil Ambani and many Bollywood actresses.

The authenticity of the disk is being checked before the contents are made public.

In his defence, Amar Singh has said that the conversations were personal and others should not be interfering in the matter.

The "removal" of a High Court judge also figures in the CD.

He has also told news channels that the CD should not be made public, but should be handed over to the Supreme Court.

He accused a Union Minister, a former Congress spokeswoman, and a Mumbai-based industrialist close to the party of having engineered his phone tapping and leaking its contents.

Singh said that the tape could be "doctored, morphed and fabricated." He, however, admitted to have spoken to Ambani, but denied that it related to financial favours for himself as was alleged.

"If somebody has done the sting, let them take responsibilty. Why don't they come forward? I will not object to it being aired then," Singh said.
