Amarinder is keen to seek the support of the family and followers of Beant Singh to become the PCC President.
Sources close to Amarinder Singh said in Patiala on Sunday that Singh would participate in the function to be held at Beant Singh Memorial in Chandigarh.
A big hoarding to commemorate the birthday of the slain leader has also been erected outside the new Moti Bagh palace, the private residence of Amarinder Singh, in Patiala.
Amarinder did not attend majority of events in remembrance of Beant Singh during his tenure as the chief minister.
