MATA AMRITANANDMAYI ‘Amma’ will be accorded the status of state guest during her visit to the City on March 11. Preparations for her function are in full swing with district and police administration officials inspecting the venue of her programme.
The committee specially formed for the visit headed by PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, coordinator Kulbhushan Mittal ‘Kukki’ and Amritpuri Math convener Shweta also inspected the grounds opposite Hotel Sayaji.
Kulbhushan Mittal informed the officials that special arrangements would be made for VIPs and physically challenged persons, besides parking facility at the venue.
The seating arrangements have been made in such a way that devotees sitting in the last row would also have proper ‘darshan’ of Amma.
The district administration and a committee including PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Additional Collector Rameshwar Gupta, SP Adarsh Katiyar and others reviewed final parking arrangements, security, traffic, seating, barricades, drinking water supply and all other arrangement to ensure the proper execution of the programme and also issued directives to the officers in charge. Amma will be accorded a grand welcome at the entry point of the City by women from 20 communities.
Fire brigade, first aid, two DP points for uninterrupted electricity supply, water tankers and nearly 80,000 water pouches would also be made available near the venue.
The officials who visited the venue included District Collector Vivek Aggarwal, SP Adarsh Katyar, Additional Collector Rameshwar Gupta, Municipal Commissioner Vinod Sharma, Hanskumar Jain, Dr A K Purnik, IDA chairman Madhu Verma, IDA Chief Executive Officer C B Singh and MPSEB Superintending Engineer R K S Vyas and corporators Rajendra Rathore and Munnalal Yadav and others.
