Yes! You have heard him sing Punjabi pop (actually act). Guessed him right Jas Arora. The same Arora who Chalte Chalte found Dushman, but wasn’t a bit afraid and successfully went for Monsoon Wedding. After three years of honeymoon in Singapore with English serial Achar, he returns as father of Prithviraj Chauhan, the new serial. Of course, he will cameo with hot Mallika Sherawat in Pyar Ke Side Effects.

“I was out for three year, but Gori nal ishq mita (with Mallika Arora) and Mera laung gawacha (with Deepti Bhatnagar) are still rocking. So, I was never out and I owe everything to them. In Jan as my contract was expiring, I signed this small role with Mallika. As I landed, Sagar Arts Production offered me this wonderful role in Prithviraj Chauhan - Dharti Ka Veer Yodha. And it was yes at once,” says Jas.

He plays Someshwar, King of Ajmer, and father of Prithviraj. “It’s a role larger than life. After reading the wide canvas and the strong character, I just grabbed the role. Earlier, I was skeptical about wearing such attire with a crown but now I am actually living that character. Sword fighting, riding horses, real bruises on body, playing a powerful king, doting father and loving husband its all weaved in,” he says.

But these roles stick with actors image, is he ready to break his fashionista image? “It has just been a month and I am doing a film, this serial and have offers for two more serials from the same production house. There are some other big projects for small and big screen are in the pipeline. I have successful roles under my belt with Shah Rukh, Sanjay Dutt and others… so I am not worried. It’s just the second inning.”

He remained away from the industry for so long. Does he feel he missed out anything? “Achar, a hilarious serial, was aired on the only English channel in Singapore. It was a big success in where this character, an Indian, falls in love and marries a Chinese girl. I was so busy with my contact that I had no time for anything else and I don’t repent it.”

So, what’s up on the love front? “No…nothing. What to say? I am happy with my clean image,” he blushes.

He was in city along with his on-screen wife Sunila Karembekar, serial directors Shakti and Amrit Sagar for the promotion of the mega-serial which will be telecast on Star TV three-days a week from May 12.
