The deceased, a photographer by profession, has been identified as Ritesh Kumar Upadhyay (17), son of Sushil Upadhyay and a resident of Anand Nagar Colony in Chitaipur area.

Maternal uncle of the deceased, Namo Raja said that Ritesh had gone to Sankat Mochan Temple for videography of a marriage on March 7 evening when one of the twin bomb blasts took place at the temple.

Ritesh received severe injuries in his left leg and was admitted to the Orthopedic Ward since then, he said. He said that condition of Ritesh was improving till a couple of days ago when his injuries started bleeding profusely.

“Then Ritesh was transferred to the ICU on Thursday evening where he succumbed today,” said Namo Raja.

“Despite repeated requests the concerned doctors did not pay proper attention towards the bleeding which ultimately resulted into his death.”

“Ritesh was bleeding profusely since last one week but the doctors claimed that it (bleeding) was normal. My son died due to lack of proper medical assistance,” said Sushil Upadhyay, father of deceased.

Medical superintendent of SS Hospital, Prof Churamani Gopal confirmed the death of Ritesh. “Often family members level allegations over the doctors after the death of their patient but we can not win over death,” she said and claimed that all the possible medical assistance were extended to the deceased.
