Anti-child labour rally organised

Child labour project director Zabi Ayesha participated in the meeting while Shrawan Dubey presided over the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Ayesha expressed serious concern over the child labour practice in the district and advocated for the awareness among women and men workers of the organised sector to curb the growing child labour in the district. She said that special attention was needed towards health and hygiene of the child labours besides sending them to child labour school operational in the district.
UPSNVMS general secretary Bhola Nath Singh said that initiatives have been taken to organise the unorganised sector and several child labour school were being run in association with the Building Wood Workers International in Bihar and UP. He said a child labour school was also being run in Semari village of Pratapur block in the district for the child labours working at brick kilns.
He said the unorganised sector workers were living in poor living conditions. He demanded for formation welfare boards in UP as formed in others states, especially in the states governed by the Congress party.
Divisional general secretary of Mazdoor Sabha Shyam Surat Pandey urged the Chief Minister Mulayam Singh for formation of welfare board for welfare of the labours in the state and also expressed determination to uproot the child labour in the State.
Meeting was conducted by Depty Kushwaha. Those present on the occasion were Yuvraj Mishra, Shailendra Kumar, Santosh Sharma, Mohan Gupta, Anil Kesarwani, Raj Kumar, Ajay Rana and Babloo Kesarwani among others.
DM’s directives: Disterict magistrate Amrit Abhijat has directed the additional district magistrate (finance and revenue) to cancel the lease of those lands, which were allotted for tree plantation purpose and had not been used for the same. He was talking to forest department officials in a meeting at his camp office here on Wednesday.
He also directed all the departments to present their tree plantation project to him. He also directed Nagar Nagar officials to prepare a directory of all trees under the Nagar Nigam area. At the same time, he directed the district panchayat Adhikari not to sanction more than Rs 10,000 to gram panchayat for tree plantation. Basic Shiksha Adhikari was asked to produce a work plan of tree plantation at every school within 7 days.
