Anti-terrorism mock drill held at DD office

DISTRICT POLICE conducted an anti-terror mock exercise at Doordarshan Kendra on Wednesday. The delta force of the police was pressed into the drill about which only senior officials were aware. A message was sent in the afternoon that armed terrorists had stormed Doordarshan Kendra and held a few persons hostage.

DISTRICT POLICE conducted an anti-terror mock exercise at Doordarshan Kendra on Wednesday. The delta force of the police was pressed into the drill about which only senior officials were aware. A message was sent in the afternoon that armed terrorists had stormed Doordarshan Kendra and held a few persons hostage.

The delta force and personnel of Shyamla, Talaiya and TT Nagar police stations took position at the Kendra. The operation that started at around 1:30 pm ended in an hour with hostages rescued and terrorists arrested.

Meanwhile, traffic was also stopped for sometime due to the operation. Later it became known that aim of exercise was to check the promptness of the force in dealing with emergency situations in wake of a possible terrorist occupation of important installations.
