Education and training programmes in B.Ed., B.P.Ed, MBA in Agro-Forestry, Diploma in Tourism Management and Diploma in Office Management and Company Secretaryship were started at the South Campus on August 14 for the current academic calendar 2006-07.

Education and training programmes in B.Ed., B.P.Ed, MBA in Agro-Forestry, Diploma in Tourism Management and Diploma in Office Management and Company Secretaryship were started at the South Campus on August 14 for the current academic calendar 2006-07.
Apart from this, several other programmes such as National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS) and Mountaineering have also started at South Campus. A Mushroom Spawn Laboratory had been constructed in Barkacha.
The Union Human Resource Development Minister, Arjun Singh will inaugurate South Campus in Mirzapur and lay the foundation stone of various new projects on the occasion.
The Union Human Resource Development Minister is also likely to participate in the Sadbhavna Divas (birth anniversary of late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi) scheduled to be organised by BHU Unit of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on August 20.
President of BHU Unit of NSUI, Harishchandra Pandey said Arjun Singh would participate in the Sadbhavna Divas celebration as the chief guest.
Meanwhile, student leaders are gearing up to protest the Union Government’s decision to enhance reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Central Government funded higher academic institutions during the proposed visit of Arjun Singh in Varanasi.
As part of their protest, the activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad took out a procession from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University and torched the effigy of Arjun Singh in Lahurabeer area here on Wednesday. ABVP activists were also likely to take out a torch procession from BHU main gate on Thursday over this issue.
