Arms, ammunition recovered in Handwara

Continuing its operations against militants, the police along with the army today recovered arms and ammunition in north Kashmir’s Handwara area.

Continuing its operations against militants, the police along with the army on Saturday recovered arms and ammunition in north Kashmir’s Handwara area.

“During the search operation in the forest area of Drangsoo, Handwara, recoveries of three AK magazines, 25 AK rounds, 15 Dura Cell batteries, one Radio set with antenna, two knives, two scissors, one hand grenade and one detonator were made,” said a police spokesman.

Meanwhile, the police spokesman said the body of Mohammad Ashraf Khatana, a resident of Danipora, was found dead in suspicious conditions under the Bidihar bridge near a dewatering Pump Station in south Kashmir’s Larnoo area in Anantnag. “After completing all legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites. Inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC have been initiated,” said the spokesman.
