An army jawan was killed while another was injured in a road accident in Poonch district, police said on Thursday.

Sepoy G M Sumita of 39 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) was killed on the spot and sepoy Sanjay Kumar injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Krishna Ghati area of Mendhar in Poonch district yesterday, they said.
The injured jawan is undergoing treatment at an army hospital in Poonch.
In another mishap, 28 people were injured yesterday in a collision between a bus and a minibus at Dhiyaran on Jammu-Akhnoor road in the outskirts of Jammu city.
The bus, which was on its way to Akhnoor from Jammu, collided head-on with a minibus coming from opposite direction at Dhiyaran, they said.
The injured were taken to a government hospital for treatment.
