The bull, Swarovski?s latest addition to its range of crystal collection, is now available at the brand?s GK I outlet.

It’s a freeze-frame pose of a galloping wild bull. And it’s a limited edition crystal object, of which only 10,000 pieces are produced. The bull, Swarovski’s latest addition to its range of crystal collection, is now available at the brand’s GK I outlet.

Crafted by renowned designer Adi Stocker, the artistically curved body of the powerful animal seem to indicate that it has only interrupted its gallop for a moment before charging off again.

For Stocker the greatest challenge was to convey the wild untamed power and the dynamic motion of the animal through crystal. “A slender legged fighting bull is faster than any racehorse,” says Stocker who made numerous trips to Andalusia in Southern Spain to study the wild bull.

“It’s a must have for any crystal enthusiast,” says Swarovski country manager, Shiv Kumar. He points out how the trend among crystal collectors has shifted in India to younger collectors who want to showcase their personal possession or just gift them to friends. “Young people start earning early these days and they have money to spend,” he says, adding that there were many objects in coloured crystal apart form the classic range of white.

At the same time Kumar admits that there is no resale value for these objects. Even then Swarovski’s range of jewellery seems to be a rage among those who are fashionable. “It’s because we are not competing with traditional jewellery. The crystal range is something that a woman can wear to a formal or an informal party. Today an office going woman wants to wear something special even at a colleague’s farewell party, birthday or just a simple let’s-all-have-lunch together bash. It’s that segment that we are catering to,” he says. It does seem to be a well thought-out strategy, as Swarovski crystal seems to be making a lifestyle statement among those who cherish the sparkling object.
