Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Arvind Brands Limited’s Head (Sales) Ashutosh Vaidya said at present the company has five brand stores operational in the state and it would open ten more stores, including two at Habibganj and New Market area in Bhopal.

“It’s going to be Excalibur brand showrooms, having world-class collections, with special focus on Indore, Gwalior and Ujjain,” he pointed out.

Vaidya said the company is into merchandizing broadly into two segments – ‘Autumn-Winter’ and ‘Spring-Summer’ collections and offers clearance sales, after one segment gets over and enters the second.

Regarding future plans, Vaidya mentioned that the company has its presence in all four categories – biggest, specialist, cheapest and nearest and in coming six months, it would launch specialised products – like micro-twills, wrinkle-free jeans etc targetting the specialised category.

Responding to a query on decline in company’s ‘Newport’ brand, he said the aim was to drive the rough & tough concept in mid-nineties and replace ‘pyjama’ customer-base by jeans.

“But probably due to difference in gap, as the concept was ahead of time, the hype we observed, slowed down,” Vaidya justified. The company has brands like Excalibur, Flying Machine, Newport etc.
