Assam govt declares holiday on April 20

Assam govt has declared local paid holiday on April 20 under Negotiable Instruments Act in areas falling within for the first phase of polls.

Assam government on Sunday has declared local paid holiday on April 20 under Negotiable Instruments Act in areas falling within the jurisdiction of six Parliamentary constituency for the first phase of polls.

Official sources said that state and Central government offices, public sector undertakings, corporations, Boards, banks, educational institutions will remain closed.

The order will also be applicable in respect of all establishment falling under the relevant Act, Rules and provisions administered by Labour department.
