Assamese school student wins digital art prize

Bharagob Gogoi has won the CII-NIIT Digital Art Award 2006 in a competition aimed at promoting creativity among students.

Bharagob Gogoi, a Class 10 student from Assam, has won the CII-NIIT Digital Art Award 2006 in a competition aimed at promoting creativity among school students.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and NIIT Limited organised the competition in Chennai on Saturday that attracted 56,000 entries from 4,000 schools across the country.

Gogoi won the award in the senior category, a CII-NIIT release said on Sunday.

Anitek Pratap Khattar, a Class four students from Delhi, and Master Marvin Kharsohnoh, a Class eight student from Meghalaya, won the first prize in the sub-junior and junior categories respectively, the release said.

Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand gave away the awards.
