In simultaneous raids at two places of Shajapur district, the Ujjain Lokayukta sleuths raided the residences of Shajapur janpad panchayat assistant accountant and unearthed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income on Sunday.
The special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta police on Sunday raided two of his premises at Barecha Road and paternal house in Devla Vihar village.
Assistant accountant Arjunsingh Dodiya was found to have assets worth over Rs 1 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income. The raids were carried out following complaints of corruption and disproportionate assets amassed by him through unscrupulous means.
According to the Lokayukta sleuths, Dodiya was posted for the past 32 years at the Janpad Panchayat office and he was an accountant earlier.
His total income by way of pay and perks comes to around Rs 35 lakh in his 32-year-long service, whereas he amassed property worth more than Rs 1 crore, Lokayukta offical N Santosh Hegde told reporters on Wednesday.
During the raid, it surfaced that Dodiya owned two houses, luxury cars, an agricultural land and jewellery and cash. He had reportedly amassed these assets in the names of his relatives, including spouse.
