If the punch line of the 11th Auto expo is "Mobility for all", you expect a car or bike to be the showstopper. Right? Wrong! The showstopper is a Rs 4.3-lakh bicycle - Trek Elite 9.9 SSL, costlier than the Maruti Swift. Manufactured and designed by Firefox Bikes, this costliest bicycle in India has a frame of carbon fibre-a material used in aircrafts and cars.

Firefox Bikes is an Indian leisure bicycle company with over 50 models in its portfolio. It started India operations in 2005 and has exclusive distribution rights within India for US-based Trek Bicycles.

"This is a high-end bike which is capable and suitable for mountain biking events, and is the costliest in India," said Shiv Inder Singh, managing director, Firefox Bikes. He insisted on calling this a bike instead of a bicycle.

So what does it offer? With a full-carbon frame, the bicycle weighs around 10 kg, and comes replete with hydraulic shock absorbers, disc brakes and 30 speed variations. It has six different sizes of carbon frames.
