An AUAA delegation met Prof Harshe recently at his residence and invited him to the conference. AUAA founding secretary Naveen Chandra and PN Tandon also informed Prof Harshe about the activities carried out by the association in Ghaziabad and adjoining areas.

According to Chandra, AUAA had been successful in marking it presence through social and cultural activities in Ghaziabad and the entire National Capital Region. The activities included hosting cricket matches, cultural programmes, symposium, seminars, besides plantation of banyan trees in Ghaziabad to increase the green cover of the city. Chandra said that the AUAA was a registered association with more than 300 members holding high position in different fields.

Registrar to join on Aug 7: Allahabad Central University’s first regular registrar, Firdaus A Wani, will formally take charge on August 7. This became clear on Wednesday after Wani sent a fax to AU vice-chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe informing him about his decision to join AU on Monday. To recall, Wani had visited Allahabad in the last week of June and had met the V-C besides visiting the official residence of the registrar that will be allotted to him once he joins duty.
